One of the lies modern people tell themselves is that faithfulness has to look dramatic before it counts.

But most Christian life is made of small things. Cleaning up. Showing up. Repeating prayers. Teaching children patiently. Fixing what is broken. Going to church. Saying you were wrong. Starting over when a day goes sideways.

This is part of why vocation matters so much. God gives real people real duties in real places. A household is one of those places. It is not glamorous. It is not optimized. It is often repetitive. But it is full of opportunities for love, sacrifice, repentance, and gratitude.

If Gilliland Homestead means anything, it should mean learning to take the ordinary work of a household seriously, not because it makes us impressive, but because it is where faith is actually lived.
